| So this is a "Kirkey" a mix between a turkey and a kiwi. |
| We have no idea what this bird actually is.... |
We went to this little shop behind the University, it was very good. I really like all the steamed dumpling you can get here. These ones had beef with a little bit of veggies in them. Excellent they cooked them down stairs then sent them up on a little dumpling elevator. I enjoyed chatting with Jillian and Nick. We talked about going to the tea gardens next weekend. Apparently it’s a gondola ride up there, but it’s fairly cheap. So now I have plans for next week.
I got back to MTC and met up with my classmates. We sat around and studied for an hour as we waited for class to start. Class today was mostly review. We did a lot of talking and practicing basic introductions. Then the test came out. It was very easy especially with all the review we had done before. I feel very confident about the whole thing. We will find out on Monday how we all did. For now Laoshi assigned us a boatload of homework for next chapter. We also discussed some plans of hopping on a train Sunday morning and going to explore southern Taipei.
After class I headed back to my dorm. I worked on homework for about an hour and half, just to get a head start. There is a lot of it and I don’t want to get overwhelmed on Sunday night. I went out and ate with James and Johnny. We went to the vegetarian restaurant. The food there is so freaking good, I tried some new things, that I have no idea what they were. All I know is, it was fantastically yummy. After that I headed back to my dorm to see who was up to things tonight.
I ended up going out with Alex. Met a bunch of new friends that were an absolute riot. We had a lovely time, I got home rather late but it turned out my roommates were still awake. We chatted for a bit then headed off to bed. This post will be late seeing as I went to bed about 4 in the morning. Such is life in Taiwan.
