Day 24 -- June 17

Today began like any school day. I got up took a shower, then hopped onto the computer. It seems mother got her skype working. So we chatted for a good 40 minutes. It was lovely to see her again and get to chat. We got caught up on each other lives, though she knew more about mine than I did hers. It was a lovely way to start the day. Then I wandered down to the cafeteria to get my breakfast sandwich. After eating, I decided that I could go back to sleep. Not having caffeine easily available in significant quantities makes it hard for me to stay awake.

I got up again and went down to the MTC patio to study before class. Along the way I picked up some coffee, and before I went in for class I snagged a quick bite to eat. Class is finally falling into a routine. We are learning about adjectives. Which is good I hopefully will get the pronunciation down soon. We were missing Reid and Shadia today. Apparently Shadia had an allergic reaction to some food and would be back tomorrow. Reid was totally MIA. Class finished out, it was quieter than usual. I think the missing cohorts shifted the balance a little bit. I would later find out Reid had a bout of insomnia and had ended falling asleep and staying that way through class.

After class I wandered back to my dorm to do homework. I talked a little bit with Sean, I am hoping he’ll help me with learning how to say the words properly, but we shall see. I also talked to Nick and Jillian about heading back to Wulai to do some hiking. They seemed pretty keen on the idea, so hopefully it will become a thing. It’d be good to spend a day traversing the river. My roommate came back and shared some pineapple with me. The fruit here is so freaking good, I absolutely love it. I could eat it all day long, if only that didn’t cost money. I found dinner in the form of steamed dumpling from a different place. I also treated myself to a dessert that was a fruit custard. They were way cheap because it was getting later so I snagged one. It was yummy!

I worked on my homework some more and did a bit of studying. The day over all was fairly normal. Since I only took a picture today of my food, I thought perhaps I shared more pictures of the Wulai Waterfall since I have a bunch more that I didn’t upload. I’ll even thrown in us laughing like children at the train ride. They are featured below. Hopefully tomorrow will have more things to take pictures of! Until next time!
